Community Partners, Inc. COPA is an Advance Special of the United Methodist Church Board of Global Ministries. COPA is also an Advance Special of the Sarasota District in Florida where it is based. There is a sister organization in England (COPA/UK) and an affiliated branch in Virginia as well as groups in several states that are also partners. COPA Directors also work with Dominican leaders in order to carry out the mission of building Christian communities.

COPA works in support of communities in the Dominican Republic. Volunteers from the U.K. and the U.S., alongside the people from the villages, have built two schools, two pre-schools, two dining shelters and two kitchens.

Community Partners, Inc COPA operates two schools and clinics in the villages of Bombita and LaHoya in the western province of Barahona in the Dominican Republic.

Health Advisor Position:

* Must have a minimum of 2 years experience as Registered Nurse.

* The Health Advisor will oversee operation of both medical clinics.

* Patient education promoting good health practices

* Acts as school nurse, and for COPA staff.

* Works with the Doctor in the Public Health Department.

Qualifications:

*Computer literate able to work with MS Word, Access, and Excel, internet an email protocol.

*Should possess good organizational skills, good written and communication skills, able to motivate and work alongside local staff developing their skills.

*Fluent spoken and written English.

*Spoken Spanish is highly desireable. Furthermore, the ability to read and write Spanish is useful.

*A valid passport and visa is required.

*Housing, insurance, airfare, and a monthly stipend are provided.

*Please note that the successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check before commencing work.
