CHURCH ADMINISTRATOR

Full Time: Salary range depending on experience is $45k-55k a year

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The primary focus of the Church Administrator is to perform clerical and administrative tasks that support the overall function and activities of the church. The Church Administrator works under the general supervision of the Executive Director and this is a full-time, 40 hours-per-week position.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Think proactively to assist pastors/directors and provide administrative support related to ministry needs
  • Support and execute church-wide events and meetings including registration, communications, organization and other details
  • Organize and maintain accurate data entry, group management(Planning Center), meeting space assignments, and event management details using church management systems
  • Provide communication to key leaders as requested
  • Perform data reporting and analysis to assist with ministry evaluation

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit expense reports
  • Edit and generate correspondence as needed
  • Maintain church calendar in Planning Center as needed or requested
  • Reserve room and resources
  • Work with outside vendors who provide regular maintenance and repairs
  • Arrange and coordinate travel arrangements
  • Provide occasional office support as needed (internet/print systems, special projects, training, etc.)
  • Manage resource room, office supplies, print/copy machines
  • Keep clear communication with the Elder board and staff team
  • Attend required meetings and record minutes when asked
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

SPECIFIC SKILLS / STRENGTHS

  • Possesses strong software management, data entry, and organization skills
  • Detail-oriented; enjoys diving deep into fine details, making sure everything is accurate
  • Good with multi-tasking related to those they support; able to keep track a wide range of details at the same time
  • Flexible and willing to jump into other tasks outside of normal responsibilities during busy seasons
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and well-organized
  • Proactive and timely in carrying out assignments to completion

 

EXPERIENCE DESIRED

  • Experience: 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

EDUCATION DESIRED

  • Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency; college degree preferred

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding GHC ministries is also required. High attention to customer service.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Strong ability to learn church management systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Google (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendaring, and Email)
  • Familiarity with databases
